Q1 2024 Social Networking App Trends on iOS in Brazil

In the first quarter of 2024, Brazil's iOS users engaged with social networking apps in fascinating ways. Data from Sensor Tower provides a snapshot of this dynamic landscape, showcasing how top apps fared in downloads and user engagement.

WhatsApp Messenger remained a strong contender, with downloads peaking at nearly 200K in early February before dipping to around 105K by the end of March. Weekly active users steadily grew from 5.5M to 5.7M, indicating a consistent user base.

Threads, an Instagram app, showed a significant spike in downloads mid-February, reaching over 225K, but saw a general decline to around 83K by the quarter's close. Active users peaked at 1.3M in February, followed by a dip and a slight recovery to 1.2M in the last week.

Facebook demonstrated modest revenue, with the highest at over $8K in late February. Downloads fluctuated, with a high of 123K in early January and a low of around 94.5K by March end. Active users varied slightly, with a peak of nearly 28M in early March.

Telegram Messenger also generated revenue, with a notable jump to over $23K in late February, later settling around $14K by the quarter's end. Downloads saw a high of over 100K in the second week of January, with weekly active users maintaining above 2M throughout the quarter.

Google Meet had its ups and downs in downloads, with a high of nearly 61K in mid-February and ending the quarter around 54K. Active users showed modest growth from around 27K to 36K, indicating steady engagement among its user base.
